Acrylic lens to understand

The base material of acrylic lens is PMMA. It is also known as PMMA by Hong Kong people and Taiwanese. Acrylic lens is actually the general term for PMMA material plate after electroplating. Plastic lens is used instead of glass material lens. It has the advantages of light weight, not easy to break, convenient molding and processing, and easy coloring. Acrylic sheet is made by polymerization of methyl methacrylate monomer (MMA), namely polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) sheet plexiglass, which is a kind of plexiglass processed through a special process. It has the reputation of "Plastic Queen". The research and development of acrylic has a history of more than one hundred years.

Uses of acrylic lens: Acrylic has the advantages of light weight, low price, and easy molding. Its molding methods include casting, injection molding, machining, and acrylic thermoforming. Especially for injection molding, it can be mass-produced, the manufacturing process is simple, and the cost is low. Therefore, its application is becoming more and more extensive. At present, it is widely used in instrument and meter parts, car lights, optical lenses, transparent pipes, etc.
